Acrylics Or Gels

Next friday I'm getting my nails done with either acrylics or gels for the first time. I've always avoided getting them done with the acrylics or gels because of the horror stories I've heard of them ruining your nails, the fungus, etc.

I think they look really neat and elegant, and I was wondering which ones everyone perferred, gels or acrylics. Gels seem like they last longer by what some of my friends have said, and the place I'm going to is the same price for either, so price isn't a factor.

There is so many different ways to get them done too, like tips and length and polish and on and on... I sound like such a newbie. :P

Well Sweetie it all depends on whether or not your nail is sensitive to certain products like acrylic. If this is your first time getting your nails done you should try a short gel french tip. Gel Nailsare more protective than acrylic. This best for you usually gel nails stays on for a moth or two without loooking old

acrylics, ur nails heal in like a week after you take them off. I get mine done all the time. Gels are actually not much better for your nails.

I just had acrylics done on my nails for the first time about 3 weeks ago. And I just took them off yesterday...if gels are better on your natural nails, get them! Because acrylics look great, and are strong, but they screwed up my natural nails, badly.

Gels are more expensive but much r on your nails than acrylics are. Both look good, but if you plan to get them taken off or something, get the gels.

i always got acrylics with a french manicure. ive never had gels but ive heard they are better for ur nails. acrylics make ur nails look back after they finally come off

I too will be interested to see what others recommend. I have never had either treatment, just plain old nail polish.
