Point of View vs. Indivuals vs. Anxiety/Make-up

As you may know that I am a masculine person. I'm only thirteen years old. Not to be persuasive, but my point of view on make-up is 'everyone is an individual'. I accept the person for their strengths and weaknesses to their likes and dislikes.

The reason why make-up makes me anxious is because I want to be an individual. I like myself the way I am. Other girls at school hate me because of make-up. That's why I mentally look down on them because they don't have respect and dignity for others. I've never wanted to pretty myself up because of this. Maybe girls do this for self-confidence. I'm confused about the make-up. I feel by the message boards that make-up is a major instead of a minor.

Every girl I have come across wears make-up. It annoys me because I don't want someone to change because they need to fit in, in order not to be bullied. I have asked them about their appearance a few times but a lot of girls at my school get annoyed very easily if I ask about a topic that has to do with appearance. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings. They're in Seventh and Eighth Grade, but is beauty an emergency that leads to apocalypse (the end of the world).

I do not understand, so I'm curious if you young ladies have any reasons why girls and women would wear make-up?

I wish more people resented their thoughts like you! I hate reading articles on the MAKE-UP page ( or whatever respective topic) & that are ANTI all make-up as if it is an abomination. Those types of posts seem really judgemental. ANYWAYS, there is not one definitive answer as to why girls wear make up. Some girls wear make up because it makes them feel pretty. Other girls like to wear make up because it makes them look prettier. Some girls wear make up to cover up things like ance, pimples, freckles, or even skin tone. Other girls may wear up to boost their self esteem. Some girls like to wear make up because they find it . Many girls wear make up not to "change the way you look", but rather to enhance what you already have. There are a bunch of different reasons why girls choose to wear or not wear make up & often it is a combination of reasons. Personally, I think it should be a personal desicion to wear make up & not wear make up & people should stop Saying you Should or you shouldn't. Anyways, wearing make up is not a comittment, I only find it an issue if a girl would not leave the house without make up. Regardless what you think/ feel/ believe, be respectful of pther people!
