| I have acne on my face and most of the time they are little. But every once in a while I get a huge pimple and I pop it. When I pop it, I take a cotton swab, dip it in rubbing alcohol and I put it over the popped pimple. The pimple then dries up and is gone by the next day. Is this bad to do? My mom always tells me not to pop them since they can lead to scarring and she told me to leave them, but if I leave them they would be there for months but if I pop them, they will be gone the next day. Should I stop? | |

| i tryed that and it worked soo good. it was gone like the next day. ill only do it for the big ugly ones though. dont want to get scars | |

| yeah it is bad, but i had to do it to this big ugly one i had last night cause im going to the park to hang out with my ex-bf and i didnt want such a big-a$$ thing on my chin! | |

well the thing is , ur not soppose to pick or pop pimples cuz it just  s to spread oils around ur face. I popped them all my life. Not a good idea; usually makes it all red and worse. when u hit like 18 u should really stop touching them cuz ur skin cells dont reproduce as fast as when u were younger so popping can lead to scarring . Instead of popping try some over the counter pimple creams or go to ur doc (they do know best). | |

No, you shouldn't stop. The only bad thing about squeezing pimples is that it can lead to permanant scars on your face and pores. I squeeze my pimples and do not care if I am left with scars on my face for the rest of my life. These websites will tell you that the bacteria from your nails and such can get into your pores and cause more inflammation which gives you acne. Therefore, the more oily your skin is, the more prone you are to acne.
